Research

Are you interested in learning more about how a few important attitudes of your employees affect their job performance and health?

As part of my “day job” as a management professor in the Department of Managerial Sciences at the University of Nevada, Reno, I conduct research on employee performance and health.  My research is impossible without corporate “partners” that work with me and my colleagues to design and implement studies that have mutual benefits.  We provide our partners with a pathway to improvement via an evidence-based approach.

Our research partners receive free-of-charge, the following benefits:

  • A custom employee survey, tailored to your needs and delivered to your employees and supervisors
  • Analysis of the survey results
  • Report of findings to both employees and senior leaders, including recommendations for senior leaders
  • Follow-up surveys to track the results of any interventions suggested by the initial survey findings

Without research partners, we simply cannot further our understanding of how to improve employee performance and health, which is why we are very glad to offer our research services free-of-charge to our partners.  If your company contracted with a consultant for these services, it would cost you a significant amount of money.

Below is a list of some of the issues we have studied or are currently addressing in our research:

  • Performance
  • Trust
  • Climate
  • Health
  • Engagement
  • Role Ambiguity
  • Turnover
  • Commitment
  • Work/home conflict
  • Absenteeism
  • Satisfaction
  • Work overload
  • Helping behaviors
  • Hope
  • Burnout
  • Entrepreneurial
    behavior
  • Entitlement
  • Under-employment

We are currently working with partners to study how cultural and generational differences among employees and supervisors affect employee effectiveness.  We could tailor this research to address your specific concerns, or we could initiate an entirely different study to meet your unique needs.

I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you and your staff to tell you more about the benefits to your company by participating.  For more information, please contact me at 775-682-9163 or contact@bretlsimmons.com
