Student Branding Blog: Sharon Markovsky’s Personal Brand

August 23, 2010 by Bret L. Simmons · Filed under: Personal Branding

I’m happy to showcase Sharon Markovsky’s personal brand in my latest post at The Student Branding Blog.  I hope you will take the time to visit the site and take a look at Sharon’s brand. Sharon was a student in my personal branding class in January 2010, and in 8 short months she has accomplished a lot with her brand.

Not quitting is the most important thing Sharon has done with her brand. I’ve taught almost 170 undergraduate and MBA student personal branding in the past year and all but about 5 or 6 of those have quit already. Most quit the day class is over. I just don’t get it. Personal branding is not instant pudding, and you can’t have something for nothing.

Wherever you are this week, look around any room you find yourself in. Most people in that room are NOT willing to do what it takes to be truly remarkable. Most are only willing to do what everyone else is doing. If you will chose to do what others are not willing to do, you can be excellent.

With personal branding, it won’t take much because the bar right now is set very low. I’m glad to be able to point to people like Sharon Markovsky as an example of doing what it takes to excel.
