Student Branding Blog: Confront Your Fears

July 5, 2010 by Bret L. Simmons · Filed under: Personal Branding

My new post at The Student Branding Blog is entitled “Learn To Confront Your Fears.” I recorded it in London on the Millennium Bridge at 6:30 am last Sunday morning, with St. Paul’s Cathedral in the background. St. Paul’s is one of my favorite places in London, and I once again climbed to the top of the tower even though I thought it might scare the shit out of me. It did.

But it was a blast. If I ever visit London again, I will visit St. Paul’s and I’ll make the climb again. I think it is important to learn to confront your fears so that you learn that you can indeed learn to do just about anything you set your mind to.

Our comfort zones hold very little opportunity for growth and development. Anything and everything worth achieving is going to involve risk, uncertainty, anxiety, and possibly even some fear. It’s important to confront those fears so that we never forget that we can refuse to let them master us, but that we can master them.
