Student Branding Blog: Go To Hell Money

March 22, 2010 by Bret L. Simmons · Filed under: Leadership, Personal Branding

The Student Branding Blog has published my most recent article entitled “Go To Hell Money.” This was another thing I started telling students when I first started teaching 11 years ago – something I learned before I entered academia. You should ALWAYS be able to walk away from a crappy job or a crappy boss. Shame on us if we let ourselves get trapped. But that takes planning and resources. I’ve walked away from a few of those jobs myself and try to always stay flexible enough to do it again if necessary.

I swear I learned this concept of go to hell money in a book somewhere, but I can’t remember where. If you have seen this in another source, leave me a comment and let me know. I want to give credit where it is due. I’ve been lucky to learn some great stuff over the years, but I can’t always remember the source for some of the counsel I use on a regular basis.
