Three Essential Components of Your Personal Brand Online

November 2, 2009 by Bret L. Simmons · Filed under: Entrepreneurship, Personal Branding, Video

For those of you just getting started with personal branding, in this video I suggest that your online presence should include at least three things: your name, a good picture, and a statement of purpose or title for your work.  Wherever you go online, be consistent with these three elements to strengthen your brand.

If you are not getting started with personal branding, you should be!  Even if you don’t like the content in the video, you might like the scenery around Lake Tahoe.  This is the first of five videos I recorded on Lake Tahoe Saturday morning, so stay tuned for more!

  1. Bret, I just wanted to drop in and say that I think it is great you are entering the video blogosphere. You’ve inspired me to do the same – flip cam is in the mail now! Any tips you can share as a result of recently starting out yourself?

Good for you, Ryan! I bought my camera back in June and I could not get up the courage to get in front of it until just a few weeks ago. Now, I LOVE it! There are some things that are for me just easier to talk about than to write about, and I can make these videos very quickly. I recorded a whole week’s worth of blog posts in one morning this weekend. Just get started, ask others for advice, and keep learning. Check out http://www.modite.com Rebecca does video very well and she even did a blog post on how to make them – I just read her post and followed her advice! Thanks, Bret
