Pat´s Garage: The Website

Yesterday my post was about Pat´s Garage, which I think is a great example of some of the principles I advocate.

I posted a link to  this blog post at my Twitter account.  I got the example of Pat´s Garage from Pam Slim´s new book.  When Pam saw this on Twitter, she sent me the link to Pat´s website.  There are two points I want to make about this.

First, you really should check out Pat´s site.  The thing that immediately caught my attention was the section “Meet the Team“.  Did you ever think you would see a website for an auto repair shop that highlights the mechanics?  This speaks volumes about Pat and I think it is simply brilliant.

The second point I want to make is if YOU own a small or medium sized business, do YOU have a website like this?  If not, I think you are missing out on a very important opportunity to connect with your existing customers and reach out to new ones.  You also really need to take a serious look at social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin.  Less than an hour after I posted my blog about Pat´s Garage, I was in direct contact with Pam Slim and she was providing me additional information related to my Pat´s Garage.

I know it can be overwhelming at first, but my adice is just to jump in and learn by doing.  I´ve been doing social media for less than a year, but I learn something new almost every day.  I like that – a lot.
